Yes It Floats

Splashdown

JUNE 15, 2013 | The new dinghy has been launched, at the new beach at South Lake Union Park. I have to say, it is beautiful. Michael’s meticulous craftsmanship shows in every inch. It rows nicely, very straight. It’s a 10-ft Acorn Dinghy and it will be the new tender for Mischief.

It’s fairly heavy, around 110 pounds, so getting it to the water in busy downtown Seattle was tricky. We rented a 14-ft U-Haul truck for the day. Michael bought a set of wheels for transporting the dinghy, so all we had to do was lift it onto the wheels, roll it up the truck ramp and strap it to the rails in the truck. Got a good parking spot, rolled it to beach and slid it off the wheels into the water.
